Alaska Center for Dentistry Wasilla has a new doctor and we are super-excited to welcome him. Welcome, Doctor Oudin! The good doctor is originally from the Dallas Texas area. He holds a degree in biology from Texas A&M University and received his doctorate from Baylor College of Dentistry. After practicing in Barrow, Atqasuk and Nuiqsut, Alaska – and after a series of mission trips to the remote village of Quesimpuco, Bolivia – the doctor, his wife (Doctor Kim Self) and their newly-born son Elijah are now proud to call South Central Alaska home. We hope you enjoy your time here at Alaska Center for Dentistry Wasilla, Doctor Oudin, and we encourage all of our patients to come in and welcome the good doctor in person!

Barbara Churchill, D.D.S.

Dr. Churchill attended Ohio State University for all of her schooling. She began her career in dentistry as a registered Dental Hygienist, and worked for thirteen years before deciding to become a dentist. The youngest of her three sons was in first grade when she decided to go back to school. She graduated Suma Cum Laude in 1978 from Ohio State, and began her private practice that she had for over thirty years.

During that time the doctor was a faculty Member at OSU Dental School. Two and a half years ago she sold her practice and moved from Ohio, where she lived her whole life, to Alaska looking for something new. So far, she is absolutely loving it. In her free time, she likes cooking, sewing, decorating, gardening, and working on her home-built 1935 International Pickup. Now that she’s living in Alaska she has added skiing, snowshoeing, dancing, tent camping, and fishing to the list! The doctor really enjoys working with the patients at Alaska Center for Dentistry Anchorage. As she puts it, “Our staff is so attentive to the needs of our patients that it makes it a wonderful place to work.”

Michael Maxwell, D.D.S

Dr. Maxwell grew up on a small ranch in Cost Mesa California. He enrolled in the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry near Redlands California and graduated in 1968. In 1969 he moved to Alaska with his wife and only planned on staying for five years. After experiencing the charm and beauty Alaska has to offer, the two of them couldn’t bring themselves to leave and they are now proud to call Alaska their home. Thirty years ago Dr. Maxwell started his practice and he is now an active member of the local, state and national Dental Societies. He has attended many continuing education courses and has advanced training in dental lasers and conscious sedation. Cosmetic dentistry is a large part of why he loves dentistry so much because he gets to help patients achieve their optimum dental health in a gentle, caring way. He is excited to be a part of the team at Alaska Center for Dentistry Anchorage.
