Meet Our Anchorage Doctors

C. Michael Sage Jr., D.D.S.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Dr. Sage graduated from Dimond High School and afterwards served four years in the Air Force Dental Corps. He went on to graduate from the University of Colorado in 1992 with a degree in biology. He is also a graduate of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. In 1997, he completed a residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Oklahoma and in 2004 he was honored with the fellowship award from the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Sage and his wife Kathy have two beautiful daughters, Aubrey and Lindey and his hobbies include spending time with his children, fishing, hiking and flying.

C. Michael Sage, D.D.S.

Dr. Sage attended the Indiana University School of Dentistry where he went on to serve in the United States Air Force on Elmendorf for four years. Dr. Sage also taught at the L.D. Pankey Institute for more than 20 years. Dr. Sage enjoys flying, hunting, fishing, skiing and being part of the Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Sage founded Alaska Center for Dentistry in 1977 and has enjoyed working with his wonderful patients ever since. According to the doctor, “I truly enjoy the interaction with our patients. Providing high quality dentistry for them is very satisfying and rewarding for me.”

Barbara Churchill, D. D. S

Dr. Churchill attended Ohio State University and began her career in dentistry as a registered Dental Hygienist. After thirteen years, Dr. Churchill decided that she wanted to become a dentist. Her youngest of three sons was in first grade when she decided to go back to school at Ohio State. After graduating Suma Cum Laude in 1978, the doctor began her private practice. After thirty years of running that successful practice, she sold it and moved from Ohio, where she had lived her whole life, to Alaska looking for something new. That was two and a half years ago. Today, Dr. Churchill says that she absolutely loves her time at Alaska Center for Dentistry. In her free time, Dr. Churchill enjoys cooking, sewing, decorating, gardening and working on her home-built 1935 International Pickup. Now that she is living in Alaska, the Doctor has added skiing, snowshoeing, dancing, tent camping and fishing to her list! According to Dr. Churchill, “I really enjoy working with the patients at Alaska Center for Dentistry Anchorage. Our staff is so attentive to the needs of our patients that it makes it a wonderful place to work.”

Michael Maxwell, D.D.S

Dr. Maxwell attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry near Redlands California and graduated in 1968. In 1969, he and his wife moved to Alaska only planning on staying for five years. After experiencing the charm and beauty Alaska has to offer, they couldn’t bring themselves to leave and are now proud to call Alaska their home.  Thirty years ago Dr. Maxwell started his practice and is an active member of the local, state and national Dental Societies. He has attended many continuing education courses and has advanced training in dental lasers and conscious sedation. Cosmetic dentistry is a large part of why he loves dentistry so much because he gets to help patients achieve their optimum dental health in a gental, caring way. He is excited to be a part of the team at Alaska Center for Dentistry Anchorage.

Meet Our Wasilla Doctors

Les D. Williams, D.D.S.

Dr. Williams graduated from Bloomington High School in Illinois where he went on to obtain both Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Illinois University. In 1982, he graduated from the Northwest University Dental School in Chicago and then went on to complete his Advanced Education in General Dentistry in Nebraska. Dr. Williams is also retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of decorated service. He loves flying, exploring the great outdoors and spending time with his wife, Keri, and his two sons, Luke and Ben.
